Early Life

Mads Mikkelsen, a Danish actor and winner of the Cannes Film Festival, was born in Copenhagen to Bente Christiansen and Henning Mikkelsen. His brother, Lars Mikkelsen, also became an actor. Mikkelsen studied at the Århus Theatre School.

Career

Mikkelsen made his film debut in 1996 in the movie "Pusher." He went on to play several leading roles in successful Danish films such as "Blinkende lygter," "De grønne slagtere," "Adams æbler," "Valhalla Rising," and the "Pusher" series. He gained fame for his role as a police officer in the Danish television series "Unit One."
