Steven Seagal was born on April 10, 1952, in Lansing, Michigan. His father, a mathematics teacher, was of Jewish descent, while his mother was Irish. Seagal's grandparents, who were Jewish, immigrated to America from St. Petersburg and changed their surname from Sigelman to Seagal. Seagal grew up with his older sister and two younger siblings.
